Over at Little Splendours, our designated kids area, you’ll find a whole host of activities to keep younger ones entertained. This year we’re going all things dinosaur! Make your own fossils and go fossil hunting, create your own dino tail and dance the dinosaur disco, join the Great Big Small Dino Quest, get musical with BeatFeet drumming, and hang out with Area Inbetween who will unleash your inner artist.
BeatFeet Drumming
BeatFeet Drumming, dance & world music workshops is joining us again this year to add some rhythm to the festival! Join BeatFeet’s Director Jude in a series of interactive drumming workshops for children and families, where you’ll discover your inner drummer!
Dino Tails
Embrace your inner dinosaur and make yourself a dino tail. By the end of the day we’ll have a herd of Splendour Dinosaurs roaming the site, getting up to all kinds of dino mischief.
Area Inbetween
Area Inbetween are a youth arts organisation run by two professional artists and youth workers. We specialise in providing fun and interesting workshops for young people at schools, festivals, youth centres and community days. Our mission is to inspire young people through the arts and we do just that with innovative and exciting installations, graffiti, crafts, dance, media, music and more. Our organisation is a non profit community organisation and we believe in protecting the environment by using recycled materials as much as we can with our artwork. Creativity is contagious and we hope to spread our love of art and empower and inspire all our young people with exciting new hobbies and interests!
The Great Big Small Dino Quest
An interactive story about a small dinosaur in search of his inner big. Expect some team challenges and games along the way as together we work out what happens when you are small in a very, very big world….
Fossil Dig
It’s time to play detective and find out what it might be like to be a real palaeontologist. Brush away layers of sand to reveal Splendour’s fossils and switch on your fossil scientist brains to decide what mysteries you’ve uncovered!
Make Your Own Ammonite
It’s time to get creative and make your very own fossil to take home with you. We’ll be making ammonites – designing the distinctive spiral shapes of these ancient fossilised sea creatures.
